Best Guess for 2009/Early 2010 March 4th, 2009
My Thoughts:
- Twitter is going to grow wildly in 2009, and find new spam/noise filters in the later part of the year.
- Facebook will grow to 300 million users, and then slow considerably.
- Ad rates will drop 50% in 2009, basically, the banner ad market will be cratered.
- MySpace will lose 20% of its power.
- 2009/10 is the time when TechCrunch jumps the shark.
- There will only be a few new startups in 2009 that are not pansy-assed me-too products that are ad monetized.
- The TC50 will be pretty damn good, but the DEMO tension will on increase.
- Google will see serious declines in some search keyword rates.
- Dell will see a resurgence in late 2009, and Apple will have to stop charging $1000 dollars for 4 gb of RAM.
- Zune dies as a media player in the next 15 months, sadly, but the great desktop application lives on.
- Global food prices decline with dropping energy rates in the next year, but still remain too high for many people.
- The Republicans continue to decline.
- The Libertarians rise [please?].

Haven’t browsed through much of your site yet, but I’d like some elaboration/details of your thoughts on #6 “There will only be a few new startups in 2009 that are not pansy-assed me-too products that are ad monetized.” Just curious.
